Brian Schottenheimer and the Dallas Cowboys looked to secure their first win streak of the 2025 NFL season in Week 8, hitting the road to face Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos. The Cowboys were coming off their most impressive win of the year in Week 7, taking down the Washington Commanders 44-22.

FRISCO — Cowboys running back Javonte Williams finished his post-practice press conference with the media on Wednesday and took off running. In hindsight, it was probably more of a jog, but speed is relative — especially when the obstacles in the way of Williams’ path were media members instead of NFL defenders.

Despite boasting one of the league’s most potent offenses, the Dallas Cowboys are enduring a turbulent season with an uneven 3-4-1 record. Their defense has been a major concern, surrendering an average of 31.

The NFL saw an offensive explosion among nine teams between Thursday and Sunday as at least 30 points were scored by the clubs in their matchups.

NFL Films agreed that it looked like a vintage throwback matchup. In a post on Thursday night, NFL Films put out a side-by-side comparison of when the Broncos played the Cowboys in Super Bowl XII and Week 8. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and co-owner Stephen Jones have both said that they expect Diggs to return. The timing of what’s transpired and the upcoming trade deadline — as well as a potential out in his contract after this season — has sparked questions about Diggs’ future in Dallas.
