Last month, Android apps were randomly crashing on users' devices thans to WebView. Now, Google has issued a statement with further details.
Android System WebView is an essential part of the Android OS that lets apps display web content without starting a separate web browser app.
Flutter, the open source mobile UI framework backed by Google, has emerged into beta with a new way to create native iOS and Android apps with one codebase.
Such is the case with Android's WebView whose update has caused some apps to crash for now reason. Fortunately, the workaround to fix it is simple and doesn't require resetting affected apps.
You can find its options by navigating to Settings > Apps > See all apps and selecting "Android System WebView." Here, you can disable the service, force-stop it, or reset its data.
