FDNY on Instagram: "Around 10:30 Thursday morning, FDNY members responded to a 3-alarm fire at 108 Taylor Street on Staten Island. Six Firefighters and one civilian were treated for minor injuries. “It was a very advanced fire upon arrival, so it was a difficult time getting to it. The attic was the most difficult area to get to. Upon arrival, we initially stretched four lines and then eventually another two lines for use, strictly on the outside. Ultimately, we went to tower ladder operations.

Joseph Downey on Instagram: "Tom Von Essen, who served as FDNY commissioner during the 9/11 attacks, recalls a conversation with Chief of Special Operations Ray Downey, in which Downey cautioned about the dangers they faced. Downey was killed soon after, when the North Tower collapsed."
