Aloha and Happy Friday all! I set my time lapse camera up here on the Big Island in Hawaii to produce the first daylong video of this trip. A 6 minute 16 second video resulted of Thursday's weather appears here and is really quite fascinating. Beautiful wispy cirrus are visible as the time lapse get underway in this south-facing time lapse, which also looks out over the Pacific. This time lapse, the first of two captured yesterday (Sunday) displays a deck of high clouds over Hapuna Beach here on the Big Island in Hawaii Sunday morning. Waviness can be seen in these high clouds at times--i.e. "gravity waves"---a product in part of the wind flow over the island's volcanoes and on the shifts in wind direction and speed through the atmosphere with height.
